Sekali lagi, pentingnya Sterilisasi (Spay and Neuter)

Scroll for English version

Salah satu alasan kenapa Anda lebih baik mensterilisasikan anjing / kucing Anda !

Kami menemukan Hebring diantara koloni kucing liar dipasar, saat itu besar badannya seusia kucing 2-3 bulan. Namun setelah diperiksa, ternyata Hebring memiliki gigi dewasa seperti kucing usia sekitar 5-6 bulan.

Hebring – a wasted life.

This case highlights the importance of spaying and neutering your cats and dogs.

We found Hebring amongst a colony of stray cats at a traditional marketplace. At the time his body was only the size of a 2-3 month old cat but after a mouth checkup, Hebring’s teeth showed he was already a 5-6 months old.

When AFJ tried to pick him up, Hebring ran and hid under a wooden market barrow, looking so skinny with a huge belly and eyes full of pus. His fur was grey and full of fleas and a few moments after we were able to catch him, he vomited worms. After bringing him to the vet for treatment, Hebring got his appetite back and began to eat.

Finally after some love and care, Hebring was able to go to sleep soundly, perhaps for the first time in his short life. He purred softly when he was held by the volunteers – purring only happens when a cat feels completely safe. Sadly, the comfort only lasted a short time as the worms had eaten through to his liver and after a while he began gasping for breath. When Hebring could no longer take a breathe, he passed away. Hebring… oh Hebring… Just one of the many kittens to suffer terribly after being dumped by his owners.

Hebring was found amongst one of the hundreds of stray cat colonies in Yogyakarta. Did you ever stop to think, where all these cats came from?
These colonies begin when cats once owned by someone, are dumped and abandoned! Often unsprayed unsprayed cats are dumped pregnant or just their kittens are abandoned in the streets, at traditional marketplaces, near public buildings, and so on. These cats then continue to breed in the wild, creating whole colonies themselves.

The importance of being responsible enough to spay and neuter our own companion animals is undeniable and will help put an end to cases such as Hebring and the hundreds of thousands unwanted kittens and cats just like him.

Please apply to get your cat or dog spayed or neutered at a spay/neuter event or take a stray cat or two if you care about the cats in your neighborhood. This will have a huge impact on the number of strays around Yogyakarta and help stop the suffering of cats that are born and live suffering on the streets.
Don’t let your cats roam the streets unless they are spayed or neutered, because if they are lost out there and follow a male or female on heat, they will also create another unwanted stray cat colony open to abuse.

Be a responsible ‘owner’ and spay or neuter your cat now!
